Hi! I'm Zayna, and I started Noetic Paper because I believe the tools we create with matter.

In college, I studied Memes and Mind Control (yes, for real!), and one of the most important concepts I learned was that the mediums we use to think heavily influence the way we create. Working on a computer can feel unfocused and rushed, whereas bringing pen to paper often leads to deeper thinking and an increased flow of ideas (#ThanksNietzsche). 

Today as a writer, I find myself reaching for pen and paper more and more, craving the tactile, focused experience that reminds me of why I love to write. I feel more creative, ideas flow more quickly, and my work exists on an actual piece of paper instead of a digital file that may never see the light of day. Not to mention, it gives me an excuse to use my FAVORITE pen (the Pilot Vanishing Point with a Fine Medium Nib!). And that brings me to Noetic Paper!

Based in Los Angeles, Noetic Paper curates stationery from around the world—Japanese notebooks, Taiwanese paper goods, Italian journals, handmade American stationery, and other Asian and European favorites.
